RECOACTIV® Renaltan Tonic was developed for cats with renal dysfunction, where targeted support for phosphate management may be useful. The formulation contains calcium carbonate as a phosphate binder and combines this nutritional function with a liquid, well-accepted dosage form.
RECOACTIV® Renaltan Tonic is suitable for cats with renal dysfunction, in which daily phosphate intake should be taken into account nutritionally. It can be used in particular if cats do not sufficiently accept a phosphate-reduced kidney diet or if an additional supplement to the existing feeding has been recommended by a veterinarian.
In the case of chronic renal failure, abnormal blood levels or advanced kidney problems, the use should always be coordinated with the veterinary practice. Regular monitoring of the relevant blood levels is particularly important if a phosphate binder is used permanently.
The contained phosphate binder calcium carbonate can bind phosphate in the digestive tract and thus contribute to the fact that less phosphate becomes available via food. This allows the feeding of kidney-sensitive cats to be supplemented without unnecessarily restricting the cat's protein supply.
